Obituary of John E. Tuttle

John E. Tuttle, Sr. of Altha passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at his home at the age of 77. He was born July 4, 1933 in Muncie, Indiana to VIrgil R. and Ruby (Kennedy) Tuttle. He attended Ball State University and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for Delco Remy, a division of General Motors in Anderson, Indiana for thirty-six years and he was a Mason for almost 50-years. He served as past grand-master in Daleville, Indiana. After retirement, he moved to Freeport, Florida and then to Calhoun County in 2004. He was also an avid woodworker, master craftsman, and was a member of Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Ann of Altha, sons, Jeffry W. Tuttle of Orlando, Florida and John Tuttle, Jr. of Carlsbad, California; a step-son, Charles Wilkerson of Ebro, Florida; a daughter, Jana L. Tuttle of Muncie; grandchildren, Sherri, Phillip, Desiree, Jennifer, Joshua, Linsi, and Noah; and a great-grandchild, Alexis. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2011 at Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church near Altha with Reverend Larry Broome and Reverend Jack Strader officiating. Interment will follow in Sunny Hill Cemetery with full Masonic rites. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (3:00 p.m.) at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunny Hill Cemetery at Superior Bank in Altha. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
